Training
Learn on your own matters, not case studies.
Every participant brings a live piece of work and leaves with its scope, its budget and its risk map already written.
The path
From a first matter plan to running the portfolio.
Four stops, taken on their own or in sequence. Tap one to see what gets practised.
Catalogue
Four programmes, one progression.
From the fundamentals to running a portfolio.
Legal Project Management: the fundamentals
For people who run legal work every day and have never been trained in project management.
- Writing scope you can defend
- Breaking work into phases and deliverables
- Estimating with assumptions on the record
- Tracking execution and reacting to variance
Advanced LPM: budget, risk and profitability
For people who answer for outcomes. Money, risk and portfolio decisions.
- Phase budgeting with ranges, not single numbers
- Keep it in or send it out: deciding with figures
- Instructing with a scope and a fee cap
- Reading variance while the work is still running
Legal operations and process improvement
For the people who hold the process together. Seeing the work as a flow and clearing its bottlenecks.
- Mapping intake and the contract cycle
- Waste, waiting and rework
- Standardising with templates and checklists
- Metrics and management dashboards
A closed programme for your organisation
Built on your requests and your templates. What gets practised in the room is what gets used on Monday.
- Needs assessment and case gathering up front
- Exercises on real matters from the organisation
- Follow-up session at 30 or 60 days
- Internal certification of the path
Formats
How it runs.
| Format | Shape | Group size | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open course | In person, two consecutive days or four half-days | 12 to 18 | Individual bookings, mixed organisations in the room. |
| In-house | At your offices, on your calendar | 8 to 25 | Content built on the organisation's own matters. |
| Remote sessions | Three-hour blocks, once or twice a week | up to 15 | For distributed teams. Live, never pre-recorded. |
| Executive workshop | Half a day | up to 12 | For legal directors and partners: portfolio, annual budget and metrics. |
How we teach
Little lecturing, a lot of practice.
A third of the time is content. The rest is working on the cases participants bring.
Before
Each participant picks a live piece of work and answers a short questionnaire. We adapt the exercises to what comes back.
During
Short content blocks, then immediate application to that case, with peer review.
At the end
Everyone leaves with scope, phases, an estimate and a risk map for their own matter.
After
Follow-up session at 30 or 60 days to see what survived contact with reality.
Who it is for
Profiles that get the most from it.
- In-house counsel — more requests than capacity.
- Legal directors — budget and headcount to justify.
- Contract and legal ops teams — the process holders.
- Lawyers and partners — portfolio and profitability.
Questions
About the training.
What does it cost, and when are the next dates?
Sent on request, with rates for multiple bookings from the same organisation. For closed programmes the fee depends on group size and the adaptation work. Ask through the contact form.
Is there a certificate?
Yes, with hours and content listed, for internal CPD records. For closed programmes we can design a certified path with a practical assessment at each level.
Do I need any project management background?
No. Level 1 starts from zero and uses legal vocabulary rather than management jargon. Anyone with prior PM training usually starts at level 2.
Is the training tied to your products?
No. If your organisation uses Kamaia CLM or LPM, the exercises can be run inside the system — which shortens the distance between the room and the desk.
Ask for the calendar and the full outline.
Tell us the shape of the team and what you want to fix. You will get a suggested path, available dates and terms.
